Full Itinerary
Arrival in Lushoto
After breakfast, you will depart by private car for Lushoto, which is approximately not less 5-hour drive. Upon arrival, you will check in at the hotel and have some time to relax. After lunch, you will embark on a hike to Kisasa Waterfalls.

Lushoto to Lukozi
Embark on an exhilarating hiking adventure spanning approximately 6 hours, commencing from Lushoto town and leading you to the historic royal village of Kwembago, once home to the first king of the Sambaa tribe. From there, journey onwards to the enchanting Magamba tropical rainforest, where you’ll have the chance to explore a German trench cave and encounter a diverse array of wildlife, including black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and an abundance of colorful butterflies and birds. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive Jackson’s chameleons along the way. Pause for a delightful lunch at the picturesque Magamba viewpoint before continuing your hike to Lukozi, where you’ll spend the night amidst the tranquil beauty of the mountains.

Old German Misson
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, your adventure begins at 9 am. You’ll traverse through local farms, offering a glimpse into the agricultural life of the region, with coffee and banana plantations dotting the landscape. Immerse yourself in the vibrant local village life, experiencing the daily rhythms of the community. Along the way, soak in the panoramic views of the rolling hills of Lushoto, providing a picturesque backdrop to your journey. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in making and taste-testing sugarcane juice, a refreshing local delicacy. As the day unfolds, continue your hike to your accommodation, where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains.

Mtae Village
Begin your day with a hike through the picturesque Shagayu rainforest. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at the renowned Usambara violet flower, first discovered in 1884 by Saint Paul. Next, visit the women’s pottery society to observe the crafting of clay pots, and then meet with a traditional medicine man. Finally, at 6:30 pm, reach the Mtae viewpoint at an altitude of 1900m to witness a breathtaking sunset.

Departure
After enjoying a couple of cups of coffee, you’ll depart from Mtae to Kwesimu village by private car. From there, you’ll hike to Irente Farm for a breakfast featuring fresh produce. Afterward, visit the Irente viewpoint to take in the stunning vistas of the sisal plantations and cliff tops. Finally, return to Lushoto town, where your tour will come to an end.
