Full Itinerary
Arrival in Tanzania
Your adventure begins as you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our friendly team will be waiting to greet you. From there, we embark on a scenic drive to Olpopongi in the West Kilimanjaro region, a journey spanning 74 kilometers that winds through the breathtaking outback of West Kilimanjaro. Keep your eyes peeled, as depending on the season, you may catch glimpses of zebras and elephants against the backdrop of the African savannah. If luck is on your side and the skies are clear, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, towering majestically in the distance.
Upon arrival at Olpopongi Maasai Village, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the Village Chief and his community, who will extend their hospitality with refreshing drinks to quench your thirst. Immerse yourself in the rich traditions and way of life of the Maasai people as you settle in and prepare for an unforgettable cultural experience.
Olpopongi Maasai Village
Following a hearty breakfast, we embark on a captivating walking safari, led by your knowledgeable guide who will illuminate the rich tapestry of past and present Maasai life in Tanzania. Dive deeper into the culinary customs of the Maasai as you savor a taste of tradition with a steaming cup of chai, brewed over a crackling wood fire. The morning’s adventure culminates in a delightful lunch showcasing a variety of local delicacies, offering a flavourful conclusion to our village activities.
Led by Maasai warriors, the afternoon unfolds with a bush excursion along ancient pathways, where you’ll discover the secrets of medicinal plants, marvel at extraordinary trees, and learn to identify tracks and local wildlife. Engage in hands-on learning as you master the use of local tools, uncover traditional hunting techniques, and master the art of fire preparation. As the sun sets, gather around a campfire where a group of Maasai men and women will enchant you with a mesmerizing traditional sing and dance performance. The day concludes with a sumptuous BBQ buffet, creating an unforgettable evening beneath the blanket of the star-studded African sky.

Tengeru Village
After a delicious breakfast, we set off for Tengeru, a village that promises a day filled with cultural immersion. Within the village, you’ll find two primary schools, one dedicated to educating children with disabilities, and the other serving as a teaching practice primary school. Here, you’ll have the unique opportunity to engage with the children, playing games and gaining insight into their daily lives.
Our journey also includes a visit to an old stone quarry site, a somber reminder of a post-WWII era when over 100 refugees from Poland found themselves in Arusha. Tragically, many succumbed to diseases such as malaria and influenza, with their final resting place marked by this poignant site. As the day draws to a close, we return to Arusha, where the comforts of the Hotel await, providing the perfect setting for relaxation and reflection on the day’s experiences.

Monduli Maasai land
After a delightful breakfast, our journey begins as we depart from Arusha, equipped with picnic lunch boxes for the day ahead. Our destination is Monduli, where our adventure kicks off with a captivating walk through a forest, accompanied by an armed ranger for safety. This forest is teeming with wildlife, offering the chance to spot majestic buffalos, elephants, and other fascinating creatures in their natural habitat.
Following our forest exploration, we pause for a well-deserved lunch before continuing our ascent to the summit of Monduli Mountain. The trek to the top rewards us with breathtaking panoramic views, where the majestic peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro and Meru dominate the horizon. Take a moment to soak in the awe-inspiring scenery, capturing memories that will last a lifetime.

Lake Eyasi
Following a satisfying breakfast, we embark on a rugged journey towards Lake Eyasi, a striking soda lake nestled in the Rift Valley. Upon arrival, we dive into an early morning adventure with the Hadzabe bushmen, immersing ourselves in their traditional hunting techniques firsthand. The experience offers a fascinating glimpse into their ancient way of life, as they hunt with bows and arrows and gather roots, tubers, and wild fruits for sustenance.
Continuing our exploration, we engage in a cultural exchange with the Tatoga tribe, known for their unique way of life. Guided by a local from the Tatoga village, we traverse the dry, rugged landscape, encountering the Hadzabe or Watindiga bushmen along the way. These tribes, living much like their ancestors did 10,000 years ago, provide insight into a way of life deeply rooted in tradition. As we delve deeper into the area, we also encounter the Datoga tribe, historically engaged in rivalries with the Maasai over grazing land. This encounter offers a deeper understanding of the cultural dynamics of the region, showcasing a way of life that has endured for millennia.
Our journey continues as we depart for the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater, with opportunities to spot wildlife along the way. En route, we’ll make a brief stop at one of the viewpoints on the rim of the crater, offering breathtaking views of this natural wonder. Take a moment to soak in the splendour of the crater before continuing our journey to the lodge for relaxation, dinner & overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day safari, immersing yourself in one of Africa’s most renowned wildlife havens. As you journey down into the crater, the landscape transforms into a lush oasis teeming with a diverse array of wildlife. Keep your camera ready as you traverse the crater floor, home to a dense population of predators and prey.
