The day tour kicks off bright and early around 7 AM. Your guide will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to the place you catch a, where a waiting boat will take you on a scenic journey to a sandbank nestled in the heart of the ocean. The voyage to this idyllic spot takes approximately 1 hour.
Once you arrive, you’ll discover a paradise perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkelling. Immerse yourself in the vibrant marine life as colourful fish dart through the bright turquoise waters surrounding the island. After indulging in a lunch or light snack at the sandbank, you’ll have a couple of hours to bask in its beauty before continuing your adventure.
Your next destination is Toten Island, located just off Tanga Harbor. Here, you’ll find a mosque, tombs, and a cemetery, hinting at earlier settlements on the island. Exploring Toten Island’s northern and western sides may unveil potsherds dating back to the 15th, late 18th, and early 19th centuries, along with the remnants of a house and several colonial-era German graves.
As you journey back to the sandbank, keep an eye out for dolphins gracefully swimming alongside the boat, adding an extra touch of magic to your unforgettable day.
