Full Itinerary
Arrival in Lake Tanganyika
Upon arrival at Kigoma airport, you will be greeted and transferred directly to the port for a scenic boat ride to Gombe. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in and receive a briefing about Gombe and the rules for chimpanzee trekking. After a delicious lunch, embark on an afternoon chimpanzee trekking adventure, led by experienced guides who will help you track and observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat.
After your trek, return to camp for a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika, one of the largest and deepest freshwater lakes in the world. As the day draws to a close, soak in the breathtaking sunset over the lake before enjoying a delicious dinner. Retire to your comfortable accommodation for a restful overnight stay, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Gome National Park
After breakfast, set out for a full day of chimpanzee trekking, immersing yourself in the beauty of Gombe’s forests. Along the way, encounter a variety of other primates, including baboons, red colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, hybrids, and blue monkeys, adding to the richness of your wildlife experience. Take a walk to the feeding station, where you can observe these primates up close as they gather to eat. Continue your adventure with a visit to Kakombe Waterfall, a stunning natural feature surrounded by lush greenery. Feel the mist on your skin as you admire the cascading waters, offering a serene moment of tranquillity in the midst of nature’s wonders. For those seeking a more active excursion, hike to Jane’s Peak for panoramic views of the park and Lake Tanganyika below.
Return to the lodge for a well-deserved late lunch, followed by an afternoon of relaxation. Take a dip in the lake, swim, or simply soak up the sun on the beach, savoringly the peaceful ambiance of this idyllic setting. As evening falls, indulge in a delicious dinner before retiring to your lodge for a restful overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s incredible adventures.

Gombe National Park to Kigoma Town
After enjoying breakfast, embark on a half-day chimpanzee trekking adventure. Return for lunch, pack your belongings, and then board a boat for a scenic journey to Kigoma town. Upon arrival, head directly to the hotel to unwind. Enjoy dinner and settle in for the night.

Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Kigoma Airport for your flight to Dar es Salaam.
