Upon your arrival at JRO Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our professional driver, who will assist you with your luggage and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Once at the hotel, you’ll be settled in comfortably, and our experienced guide will provide an informative safari briefing, outlining the itinerary and what to expect during your birding adventure. Afterward, enjoy a restful overnight stay in preparation for the exciting days ahead.

Birdwatching in Mkomazi National Park
After an early breakfast in Moshi, you will be transferred to Mkomazi National Park, one of Tanzania’s premier birdwatching destinations. Known for its diverse habitats, Mkomazi is home to a variety of rare and endemic species, including the Vulturine Guinea Fowl, White-headed Vulture, and the Greater Kestrel. Upon arrival, your birding safari will begin immediately, taking you through lush woodlands, savannahs, and wetlands where you can spot a wide range of birds.

Today, we’ll spend a full day at Mkomazi National Park, one of Tanzania’s hidden gems for birdwatching. Known for its diverse habitats, from savannahs to wetlands, Mkomazi is home to a wide variety of bird species, including both resident and migratory birds. Expect to spot rare species like the Violet Wood Hoopoe, Somali Bunting, and Red-and-yellow Barbet.

Spend the day exploring Tarangire National Park, a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 500 species.
